The property is located at the edge of the hamlet of Capriglia and Pietrasanta (about 5 km away), where you can find all shops and useful services. La Dama del Bosco is immersed in the beautiful countryside of the Versilia hills, in an area to the north of Tuscany, delimited to the west by the Apuan Alps and to the east by the San Rossore Natural Park with Lake Massaciuccoli, the largest in Tuscany and located within a naturalistic oasis where there are many species of birds and which can be traversed by boat. The proximity to the Tyrrhenian coast allows you to combine fun, culture, scenic beauty and a sea with stupendous beaches. From the property it is possible to reach some of the most beautiful places in the surroundings. Among these, queen is certainly Pietrasanta, the main town of Versilia, known for its high artistic rank. Here is realised the refined processing of marble, extracted from the quarries of the Apuan Alps, and bronze, which attracts artists from all over the world. Trendy Forte del Marmi, on the other hand, is built on the remains of the fort of the same name that stands in the centre of the town and is the most fashionable resort in Versilia thanks to its beaches, luxury shops and famous night clubs. Well worth mentioning is Viareggio, "the pearl of the Tyrrhenian", which offers a variability of landscapes, between sea and mountains, fine cuisine and a series of international cultural events and manifestations, including musical events, the magical Carnival, literary awards and film events. As an alternative to days spent on the beach you could travel the Val Freddana, along the road of oil and wine, to the exquisite city of Lucca, with its extensive historic medieval centre, completely surrounded by Renaissance walls. Within the town, in addition to the elliptical Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, there are buildings of great artistic and religious importance such as the Cathedral of San Martino, the Church of San Michele in Foro and the Basilica of San Frediano. Just outside Lucca, about ten kilometres away, are splendid villas with marvellous gardens such as Palazzo Mansi, the Villa of Paolo Guinigi, Palazzo Moriconi-Pfanner and finally, the birthplace of the composer Giacomo Puccini, today a museum with documents and mementos of the great Maestro. In his honour, every year, an important appointment with opera is held, just a few kilometres from the property: the Puccini Festival, which takes place in Torre del Lago, where the composer lived for many years and wrote many of his works. Villa Puccini (open to the public and visitable) stands on a hillock overlooking the lake of Massaciuccoli and today houses the musician's tomb. In your free time it is possible to practice various sports thanks to the many well-equipped facilities in the area, such as the golf course of the famous Versilia Golf Club. In the surrounding areas, thanks to easy access to the motorway via the Versilia exit (4 km), Tuscany offers the opportunity to visit both small, typically medieval, borghi as well as famous art towns such as Florence, Pisa, Lucca, Volterra, San Gimignano, Vinci, Bolgheri, Portofino, the Cinque Terre
