Description

PRIVATE STRUCTURE. Casale dell’Oasi was built in the late 19th century within what is now the WWF Oasis of Pian Sant'Angelo. Its current look is the result of careful work of renovation and restoration, respecting the natural context in which it lies, and of the taste of a welcoming and comfortable country residence. Ceilings with exposed chestnut-wood beams, walls in local stone, floors in terracotta and red grit, doorsteps in peperino, furnishings and upholstery in warm colours. Surrounded by green countryside and away from the chaos of the city, it is in a strategic point for visiting the most beautiful places in northern Lazio, a land of volcanic lakes and centuries-old woods, habitat of wild animals, profoundly Etruscan and Faliscan, but also medieval and Renaissance, with the scent of chestnuts, hazelnuts and olive trees, a small jewel of inestimable wealth. Located twenty minutes from the Magliano Sabina motorway exit, it is the ideal location for special moments to spend with family and friends. Shops, restaurants and services are just a few kilometres away in the town of Corchiano, a place of great food and wine renowned for its hazelnut groves and cured meats.

THE VILLA HAS BEEN SUBJECTED TO A CHECK-UP BY A TECHNICAL RESPONSIBLE BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON, TO ENSURE CONSISTENCY OF THE DESCRIPTION, ACCESSORIES LISTED ON THIS PAGE AND THEIR PRESENT STATE OF OPERATION/MAINTENANCE, TO GUARANTEE QUALITY, CLEANLINESS AND COMFORTS TO ALL CLIENTS WHO WILL STAY HERE.

Interior

The casale is on two levels connected by an internal staircase in terracotta and an external one in brick. The entrance opens onto an open-plan area with billiard table, sitting room with fireplace, Smart TV with Sky, and dining room with exit out to the portico. Next to the dining room, and connected to the entrance with billiard table, is the built-in kitchen with thermo-fireplace and barbecue. The ground floor is completed by a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and exit to the garden, and a hallway with guest bathroom with shower and with exit to the garden. The first floor consists of a sitting room with fireplace and Dtt TV, two double bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom with shower and exit to the terrace, a twin bedroom, a bathroom with tub, and another double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with hydromassage tub. All the bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning with independent control units. The washing machine is located in the kitchen.

Park

The house is located within the WWF Oasis of Pian Sant'Angelo, a mosaic of natural environments and unique archaeological finds in the land that was inhabited by the Faliscans. In an area of 254 hectares, nature blends with history: the landscape is made up of different environments with centuries-old oaks, wooded ravines, Faliscan pastures and monuments. The whole area is at the disposal of guests who can move around freely for walks, treks, excursions, horseback riding (the riding school is 1.5 km from the house), with the possibility of running into wild boars, foxes, porcupines, badgers, ducks and all the typical fauna of protected oases. One hectare of park, containing the house and annex, the swimming pool, the mixed lawn garden and the parking area, is enclosed with wooden poles and electro-welded mesh to prevent larger animals from entering the property and it is therefore important that the gate remains closed. The uncovered parking area can accommodate up to 6 cars. The portico connected directly to the dining room has a convenient space for outdoor lunches and dinners next to an outdoor sitting area.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool is located on the same level as the house and annex which are about 20 metres away. Measuring 4.5 x 14 m with the depth varying from 1.20 to 1.80 m, it is lined in beige PVC with the border in peperino and has salt purification, internal lighting and four corner steps for access to the water. The solarium, consisting of two stone platforms of 20 sq m each surrounded by a mixed lawn, is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas. The pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.

Casale dell’Oasi is located in the municipality of Gallese in Tuscia, now known as the province of Viterbo, which has always been an authentic welcoming land characterised by an immense artistic and cultural heritage, with little picturesque medieval towns where time seems to have stopped and beautiful landscapes. The Natural Monument of Pian Sant'Angelo, WWF Oasis, is located in territory known as Agro Falisco (the Faliscans were an ancient population allied with the Etruscans) of extraordinary importance due to the presence of tuffaceous ravines (deep ravines carved by streams in the tuff) that offer corners of wild nature in a countryside that preserves precious historical-archaeological evidence, rock tombs and the remains of an aqueduct. The favourable position of the house offers guests the opportunity to explore numerous cultural and naturalistic itineraries. Civita Di Bagnoregio, an ancient fortified borgo of certain Etruscan origin which preserves, unaltered, its subsequent medieval plan; Caprarola with the Renaissance opulence of Palazzo Farnese; Bomarzo with the Sacred Wood, better known today as the Park of Monsters, is certainly a unique example of its kind: after crossing the crenellated arch at the entrance to the garden, the visitor is immersed in a fantastic world populated by sphinxes, elephants, gigantic monsters, dragons and ogres, who inspire fear and surprise; Civita Castellana, famous centre of ceramic production and rich in monuments, where evidence of a flourishing distant past can be seen in an extensive Etruscan necropolis, in the Faliscan Temple of Juno Curite and in numerous Roman remains scattered throughout the area, including the ancient city of Falerii Novi; Viterbo with the medieval district of San Pellegrino and the complex of the Terme dei Papi. And also the Natural Monument of Forre di Corchiano along the Rio Fratta, a tributary of the Tiber, an area rich in ancient evidence of the presence and activity of man. Lake Bracciano with its blue waters, rich in fish, overlooked by the three attractive borghi of Bracciano, Anguillara Sabazia and Trevignano, with the Orsini-Odescalchi castle, where you can organise interesting boat trips. The Natural Reserve of Lake Vico where you can go for a peaceful walk along the banks and continue with a trek to the Pozzo del Diavolo, which is what remains of the ancient volcanic crater. Lake Bolsena with its crystal clear waters and the wooded hills that slope down to it constitute a naturalistic union of exceptional beauty. In the centre of Bolsena you can visit the church of Santa Cristina, with its interior in Romanesque style and the façade constituted by a Renaissance makeover.
