N.Y.C.’s ‘Waterfall Mansion’ Doubles as an Art Gallery. It Just Relisted for a Reduced $24 Million.

On and off the market for the better part of a decade, most recently for $34 million, this Manhattan townhouse and its accompanying art gallery just popped up for sale once again. But you’ll still need a considerable amount of cash to pick up the keys to the delectable five-story spread, which is now listed for a more palatable $24 million.

Nestled a few short blocks from Central Park, the premises were originally built way back in 1899 as a home and workshop for textile designers D.D. and Leslie Tillett. Boutique real estate investor Kate Shin purchased the place for $8.5 million in January 2008, and then spent the next four years extensively renovating the former carriage house into a residence resting atop a gallery in collaboration with Japanese architect Toshiko Mori.

Other highlights include a spacious living room, dining room overlooking the waterfall via floor-to-ceiling walls of glass, and kitchen outfitted with Asko and Thermador appliances.
