With more than 30 years of experience in real estate, both abroad and in the U.S., Jane Ford is a real estate broker known for navigating the intricacies of coastal real estate development and working tirelessly on behalf of her clients. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jane received a bachelor's degree in biochemistry, a master's degree in secondary education, and became a certified paralegal with a specialty in environmental law. As she puts it, she got into real estate by accident. She was vacationing on the Outer Banks in North Carolina when she strolled into an open house and began chatting with the developer. Fast forward a few months later, she began working for an oceanfront developer and discovered her calling. In the decades since, she has climbed up the industry ranks, becoming an award-winning real estate professional and starting her own brokerage in North Carolina.
While simultaneously managing her brokerage in the U.S., she worked as a luxury broker in Playa del Carmen for several years. Jane then relocated to Grand Cayman, where she was a broker with Sotheby's and Engel & Völkers, representing clients seeking luxury vacation properties and second homes. But even though Jane is widely recognized for her experience in the high-end market, her passion is simply making her clients' dreams come true—whether it's land to develop, luxury residences, or investment properties.
When Jane is not negotiating real estate transactions, you can find her riding her horse, paddleboarding, or scuba diving. An avid equestrian, Jane is an FEI show jumping judge and travels to international equestrian competitions across the globe; she speaks Hungarian fluently. Jane lives in her Playa del Carmen home with her dog, Teddy, and her horse, Akua. She is an active member of the National Association of Realtors and is a licensed broker in North Carolina, Hawaii, and Grand Cayman. She has been named a top producer in Hawaii Business Magazine for 2021, 2022, and 2023.
