Roberto Buchelli

I am a native New Yorker, born in Manhattan, but I have also lived in Jamaica Queens, Port Jefferson (Suffolk County) and in Quayaquil, Ecuador where my family is from. I earned my Bachelors in Science in Finance from Bentley University in Waltham MA, and after graduation, I worked in Boston for a few years before returning to NY in 2001. Since then, I have lived in various neighborhoods in Manhattan, including Upper East Side, Gramercy, West Village, Tribeca and in Hells Kitchen, before moving to Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2018. Recently in 2022 I moved to Bell Slip (Greenpoint Landing)

I worked in Finance for a few years, specifically in the fund to fund sector. My responsibilities included overseeing the accounting aspects of the funds, calculating net asset values, ensuring trades were executed and serving as a liaison between the trade desk and the fund manager/client.

Later on, I made a transition into the hospitality industry. I worked my way up to managing an upscale lounge in the midtown area, right across from The Plaza Hotel. Additionally, I operated and oversaw the food and beverage for 3 venues and a rooftop event space for a hotel in downtown Manhattan.

Currently, I'm deeply involved in producing events under a brand I created called SoundChk. In this role I serve as the creative director and also offer consulting services to new venues, guiding them on how to maximize revenue, staffing, marketing, branding and positioning.
