After being named director of the brand new Barclays Center, a giant arena complex that will house the Brooklyn Nets, Jay-Z is integrating his other businesses into the construction. He is now planning to open a special version of his 40/40 Club at the complex.
The mogul and part-owner of the Nets is opening the new combination sports bar and restaurant at the suite level of the arena. It will feature 350 seats and 9000 square-feet within the stadium. Set to open September 28, the club is only available to ticket holders for NBA games, concerts and other related events. It will only be open during these events.
According to the New York Post, season ticket holders will be able to get reservations first, but any
ticket holder can attend the 40/40 Club, which plans to serve alcohol
until an hour after each event's conclusion. This differs from normal
NBA rules that stipulate food stands and beer vendors must stop selling
alcohol at the beginning of the fourth quarter at basketball games.
