"I’m always thinking that I’m a lucky person . While looking to buy property in NYC recently, I met the most professional realtor - Elaina Kats. At first I was doubtful that Elaina will be the right realtor for me to find a suitable apartment because I worked with several realtors before including the people who can speak mandarin, but I really feel not comfortable with them. When they took me to see the apartments, it’s their first time to visit too... One broker even took me to wrong apartment... The result is the property they found doesn't reach my requirement and waste my time. In my opinion, they just asked me the budgeting and then collect some options online and then took me to visit. I do hope the realtors could give me their professional comments, but obviously not... Until I know Elaina who my friend recommend to me. She lives in Manhattan for almost 30 years, she’s so familiar with this area, she know NYC in great detail. What’s more she can understand the FENGSHUI although she’s an American but she was born in Russia and lived there until she was 11 and then in Rome until 14, she knew Asia’s culture! That’s amazing, right? At first she asked what I expected, and then provide me several options, that is completely different, these options are stunning, although they are not perfect but they could reach some of my requirements and considering fengshui and the school, she’s really thinking you as her family! Actually I’m a picky person, even these options looks nice, but I still don’t think they should be my home! Elaina provide me around 5 rounds and then I really find my current stunning apartment, I love it, especially the terrace! All my family are so happy with this property! Later when I’m familiar with Elaina, I know she was a designer before, she often travelled to Asia, especially China, so she has very unique fashion sense and knew China culture a lot! "To say that Elaina Kats of Compass is a consummate professional is an understatement of her incredible work ethic, tenacity and total respect for me as the seller. I was skeptical at first because I experienced horrible and inept brokers in the past and previous listings of this apt. Elaina met with me and offered to help with everything from beginning of the process through the closing. She emphasized that she has a fashion and art background and re - staging of the apt. She assisted and helped me show the apt in the best light possible. Not only did she come in before showings and helped with shopping, putting furniture together and hanging pictures. Elaina’s evaluation of the apt was different than 90% of brokers that I met with. Most agents wanted to list or re-list the apt at a lower asking price than previous ended broker listing. This was in spite of my explaining that the apt was devalued and they would say “that we are now in a buyer’s market.” Elaina wanted to list the apt at a decent higher asking price than previously listed and said we will negotiate a little bit. She added value to the apt and listing in many ways. Elaina added an oil diffuser and other show pieces. She brought cup cakes and played Sinatra music. Above all she was very respectful of the co-op building rules and my apt. She was readily available for showings and great with follow up. She gave me reasonable notice and always provided feedback. She never made excuses for inclement weather. While any broker can under price an apt and sell it; Elaina insisted on pricing it decently and above low asking price. Elaina received 2 decent offers after 1st showings by appointment and helped me negotiate. She always gave me her real no-nonsense opinions and advice.
